Steve Lukather, the band’s guitarist and lead vocalist, had decided that Toto was no longer a band that resonated with him. This wasn’t a bitter break-up, it was a mutual decision.

The band’s original drummer, Mike Porcaro, had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2007. This reunion helped the band raise awareness of ALS and brought fans back together. Sadly, Porcaro passed away in 2015.

The band’s reunion was short-lived, and after the tour, they disbanded once again. Despite the band’s breakup, the members have continued to collaborate on various projects and maintain a close friendship. They have also remained active in the music industry, with Lukather releasing solo albums and Paich composing music for television and film.
