Why Did Ryan Dungey Stop Racing? The Champ’S Farewell

Ryan Dungey’s last race as a professional was in 2017 when he won his fourth and final Monster Energy AMA Supercross title. But it was a neck injury in 2016 at Thunder Valley that marked the beginning of the end of his racing career.

That neck injury at Thunder Valley was a serious one. It happened during a race and forced Dungey to miss several events. He came back, but the injury continued to plague him. He was able to win the 2017 Supercross championship, but it was clear that he was not the same rider. After the season, Dungey made the difficult decision to retire from racing.

Dungey’s decision was a difficult one. He had already achieved so much in his career and was at the top of his game. But, he knew that his body couldn’t keep up with the demands of professional motocross. He was concerned about his long-term health, and ultimately, he decided that it was time to step away from the sport.

Even though he retired from racing, Dungey remains active in the motocross community. He still works with KTM, his former team, and helps out with their development program. He also has a family to take care of and wants to spend more time with them. It seems that he has found a good balance between his professional and personal life, and he is happy with his decision to retire.
